The second permanent building at the Hanhikivi 1 site is completed; Fennovoima accepted the security gate building contract today.
The security gate building was constructed by Rakennusliike Sorvoja Oy from Oulainen, and its HPAC and electrical works were done by ARE Oy from Kokkola. 35 companies, most of which are from Northern Ostrobothnia, have worked at the security gate building site through the subcontract chain.
The two-storey, approximately 1,200 square meter security gate building is situated at the plant site in the Hanhikivi peninsula. Work site traffic monitoring and some permission administration matters are handled in the building. When the power plant is operational, all passenger and freight traffic will go through the main gate building. The security gate building will be taken into use gradually.
Preparatory works at the Hanhikivi peninsula continue. At the moment, e.g. hydraulic construction and dredging works, injections in the bedrock surrounding the plant area, and construction works of the accommodation village are on-going. Approximately 300 people work at the site daily.
